Hideo Kojima is a prolific Japanese game designer of successful video games, and creator of the world famous Metal Gear Solid saga. For years he has been such a fan of J.F.Rey frames that he collects them just like others collect butterflies.
Some of the key characters in the new opus METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN wear frames from this unique and fantastic collaboration. METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN is the series’ largest and most ambitious chapter to date, expanding upon themes and content seen in its prologue: METAL GEAR SOLID V: GROUND ZEROES, which also features Hideo Kojima wearing J.F.Rey frames.
Jean-François Rey is a French frames creator and a pioneer in eyewear design. He has been fascinated by Japan for many years and every visit there is an opportunity for him to discover an architectural and artistic culture from which he tirelessly draws his inspiration.
The Japanese passion for his work persuaded him to devote an exclusive store to them. The J.F.Rey store in Tokyo has now become, just a few years later, an essential embassy for French eyewear creation in the Land of the Rising Sun.

Led on by their passion for creation, their taste for adventure and the desire to celebrate their loyal fans, they decided to share their worlds, moving from virtual to real, creating together a collection of exceptional prescription and sun frames.
